XOKO, Inverness’ coffee and baked goods paradise!

XOKO in Inverness (Scotland) is a must-visit for coffee and baked goods lovers. It’s so popular that you might end up sharing a table with someone, which is a great way to meet new people and chat. I personally love this concept. We stumbled upon this charming little shop right on the corner of Bridge Street and Castle Road. By chance, someone just left, and we got their table. After claiming our seats, we ordered at the counter, and a few minutes later, our order arrived. We treated ourselves to some amazing coffee, delicious pastries, and cake.

XOKO makes all its baked goods in-house. They have a busy kitchen that churns out all sorts of yummy treats. All their ingredients are sourced locally from supplies in the Highlands of Scotland. For some of the more exotic ingredients that can’t be found locally, they source them from Spain, Belgium, and France, making it a foodie’s dream come true. XOKO is also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friendly.

The coffee at XOKO is their top priority. They source their coffee from South West Colombia in the Hulia region. This coffee is renowned for its rich chocolate, caramel, and cherry flavor. As a big coffee fan, XOKO’s extensive coffee menu has everything you need, plus some unique options like masala chai and turmeric lattes. If coffee isn’t your thing, you can find teas, hot chocolates, and soft drinks. The other interesting menu items are their nice little beer and wine menu, available after 10 a.m., and some hot chocolate and mochas made with some fine spirits.

Community is at the heart of XOKO. They have an open plan coffee bar and a community table where people can connect and support each other. They’re also members of Highland Pride, LGBTI Rainbow Mark, and Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland.

I love coffee shops like XOKO. In my opinion, a coffee shop is a vital part of a town, city, or village, and XOKO definitely delivers on that.
