Vintage Bean’s Ethiopian Guji is truly magical.

Espresso shot of Guji

Vintage Bean’s Ethiopian Guji is truly magical. I’ve brewed this outstanding coffee in various ways, and it consistently delivers the same profile. I highly recommend it for single-origin espresso, which is a bold statement considering espresso is a blend of beans that usually results in a desired flavor. You don’t want the coffee to get lost in the steamed milk.

The only brewing method I didn’t use is the Aeropress because I don’t have one. However, I have a wide selection of brewing methods at home, and it’s such a joy to brew coffee like this and see it shine. Hats off to Vintage Bean for not overroasting the beans and choosing the perfect roast to make this bean stand out.

Vintage Bean’s Guji

Here’s what I found:

Aroma: The aroma is pleasant and robust, but not overpowering. It tantalizes you into making a cup of coffee. I picked up notes of honey, lemon, and pear, all blending together perfectly.

Flavor: Honey is the star of the show in this cup of coffee, with a subtle hint of lemon and pears. Adding milk diminishes the lemon, but not the pear. This coffee has a natural sweetness that’s a recurring theme.

Body: It’s rich and full, with a medium-weight mouthfeel that evenly coats your tongue. This Ethiopian Guji is alive, sparkling on your tongue, and very juicy, unlike a flat cup of coffee.

Acid: It’s low, and surprisingly, it has a surprisingly long cup life. Most Ethiopian beans are high on the acid scale, resulting in a bitter cup at the end. Not this one! I was even so bold as to make iced coffee with it, and it was a delightful treat on a hot summer day.

Vintage Bean Coffee Company’s Guji is a must-try. It’s a delightful coffee that’s both enjoyable to drink and a great addition to any coffee cabinet. It’s also an excellent way to introduce people to the wonderful world of African coffee. Trust me, you won’t regret buying this one!
