Over Under Coffee Shop

Over Under at Earl’s Court in London is a testament to the fact that success doesn’t require a large seating area. It just needs to produce exceptional espresso drinks, pastries, and be open when everyone is on their way to work. Over Under excels at that.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem on a side street in London this past fall. To my surprise, it was minimal. They didn’t have a large seating area, or even a small one. They had just one table with two chairs. I noticed quite a few people going into the lobby, ordering their drinks, and then going outside to wait by the pick-up window to get their drinks and food. The size of the line and how quickly the drinks and food were being served piqued my interest, so I decided to give them a try. I was very glad I did.

Over Under cleverly uses the space in older historic buildings that were built well before the 1800s in London. It’s a treat to see such buildings being used and not torn down.

The espresso drinks and the croissant I had were excellent. The pastries came from a local shop nearby, and it was a real treat to get freshly made, outstanding pastries.

I quickly gathered that Over Under is well-known to the people who live and work in that neighborhood. The steady stream of people going in, ordering their drinks, and waiting outside for their orders was impressive. Only two people were working behind the bar, that was all that could fit back there. The space was so tight there.

If you’re looking for something that is well above average and offers quick service, Over Under is your spot. They have everything down to a smooth-running operation that has customers’ needs at the forefront.
